FABO Awards Finalists Announced

Judges have selected 40 finalists from over 200 nominees for the inaugural FABO Awards which aim to celebrate the people working behind the scenes in Australia’s Not for Profit sector.
The brainchild of finance and management support company for the Not for Profit sector, Matrix on Board (MOB), the awards are aimed at shining the spotlight on all those people who work behind the scenes of Australia's Not for Profit organisations people in Finance, Administration, IT, Human Resources.
MOB General Manager Belinda Wallin says Not for Profits of all sizes rely on effective infrastructure and management support staff and partners, however these ‘quiet achievers’ are rarely in the forefront of an organisation’s profile.
Connecting Up Australia is sponsoring the NFP Employer of the Year with MYOB sponsoring NFP Bookkeeper of the Year, and a Judges' Award for Excellence – the 'best of the the best' awards. Pro Bono Australia is proud to be sponsoring the Auditor of the Year Award.

The judges for the awards are: Annette Cairnduff (Director Social Inclusion, The University of Sydney), David Sharpe (Business Adviser, Creative Industries Innovation, Centre Enterprise Connect Department of Innovation, Industry, Science & Research) and Associate Professor Roslyn Russell (School of Economics, Finance and Marketing RMIT University).
All nominees and finalists will be recognised at the FABO Gala Dinner Celebration, 18 October in Sydney. Tickets are now on sale for the gala, where FABO Award winners will be announced in the midst of an evening of entertainment. The event is an opportunity for Not for Profit organisations to celebrate the work of their back offices. Ronni Kahn, Australia’s Local Hero 2010 (Australian of The Year Awards) and Founder of Oz Harvest will be the keynote speaker.
