Two NSW executives from the St Vincent de Paul Society have been sacked one month after the welfare organisation suspended its NSW State Council over ongoing internal feuding over alleged bullying issues and financial control.

The organisation has confirmed that John Picot, the Society's NSW Chief Executive, and the NSW Executive Officer for Operations, left the organisation earlier this week.

John Picot is credited with introducing the highly successful Vinnies CEO Sleepout fundraising event which went national this year.

In July, Dr John Falzon, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Council of the Society of St Vincent de Paul released a statement saying the National President Syd Tutton, has taken steps under the statutes of the Society to place the NSW State Council under the temporary administration of the National Council.

The move was described as a regrettable but necessary measure in light of a number of problems that were not being addressed by the State Administration.

Dr Falzon said at the time that the move had received strong support from members of the NSW State Council and he has also received support of the international President General for the actions that have been taken.

Sydney media is reporting that the NSW president, Barbara Ryan, was sacked last month and is appealing against the decision.
