The Fundraising Institute Australia has received $20,000 from The Perpetual Foundation to assist with professional development within the charitable sector through international philanthropy scholarships.
Speaking on behalf of the FIA board and members, FIA CEO Chris McMillan says the organisation is delighted to receive the funding to provide two scholarships for professional learning overseas.
McMillan says the gift will help support the FIA’s ongoing work in encouraging and providing professional development within the fundraising sector.
She says the FIA was selected under a rigorous process from a highly competitive field.
Andrew Thomas, Perpetual’s General Manager Philanthropy, says the scholarships are in line with the key objectives of The Perpetual Foundation which focuses on the improved leadership, management and governance of Not for Profit organisations and their capacity to achieve sustainability for the long-term benefit of society.
Scholarship details will be announced in September, and the winning recipients will be presented with their scholarships at the FIA’s International Conference 2011 in Melbourne in February 2011.
