Not for Profit FABO Awards
1 June 2010 at 11:18 am

Australian Not for Profits will be able to celebrate the efforts of the finance, administration and back-office staff in the inaugural FABO Awards in 2010.

The Victorian Minister for Community Development, Lily D'Ambrosio will launch the Awards on June 24 at Etihad Stadium and Pro Bono Australia is delighted to be a sponsor of the Auditor of the Year Award.

The brainchild of finance and management support company for the Not for Profit sector, Matrix on Board (MOB), the awards are aimed at shining the spotlight on all those people who work behind the scenes of Australia's Not for Profit organisations.

MOB General Manager Belinda Wallin says Not for Profits of all sizes rely on effective infrastructure and management support staff and partners, however these ‘quiet achievers’ are rarely in the forefront of an organisation’s profile.

She says while the public is more likely to hear about the CEOs and Directors, the fund raisers, the high profile ‘movers and shakers’ and even the frontline workers, none of the success of Not for Profits could be achieved without professional and effective finance, administration, IT and human resource management -all those people working behind the scenes.

ConnectingUp is sponsoring the NFP Employer of the Year with MYOB sponsoring NFP Bookkeeper of the Year, and a Judges' Award for Excellence – the 'best of the the best' awards.

The Full Awards List is as follows:
