RaffleResults Website Seeks Corporate Promotions

RaffleResults is now asking corporates to advertise their raffles, competitions or trade promotions on the website and help out a charity of their choice already using the RaffleResults service.
RaffleResults founder Geoff Carrel says the fee for advertising the corporate competitions and displaying the results when they are drawn will be $200 and from this amount, $100 will be donated to any charity named on the 'Results' page or 'Raffles on Sale' page.
Carrel says the donation will be in the name of the advertiser and the website will publicise this act of philanthropy on its 'Home Page'.
Carrel says that in most States and Territories of Australia it is no longer necessary to publish results in newspapers and therefore the $200 cost referred to above can be recouped from this saving.
He says the corporate support will also allow him to continue and expand the free service to charities.
Carrel says he will accept corporate promotions provided the content of the advertisement does not compromise the ethical nature of the remaining 'Raffles on Sale' shown on the website.
A retired banking executive, Carrel came up with the idea for an online resource that allows charities to post their raffle results and their raffle opportunities for free in 2009.
He says the costly practice of publishing raffle results in newspapers owes itself more to longstanding custom rather than actual need.
Information from the FIA suggests that Australians spend in excess of $2 billion a year on charitable gaming which is buying raffle tickets.
He believes only a small percentage of ticket holders, perhaps as few at 2%, actually buy a newspaper for the specific purpose of checking raffle results while charities are estimated to be spending hundreds of thousands of dollars each year on newspaper advertising in the 'Public Notices'.
