OHS Equipment Grants – Final Grant Round Open
1 March 2010 at 2:02 pm

VCOSS is participating in the WorkSafe Community Sector Prevention Fund Project, providing equipment grants for Victorian Not for Profit Organisations.

The OHS Equipment Grants will allow Not for Profit community organisations to improve workplace health and safety by accessing funds to purchase equipment and/or modifications to address identified OHS hazards in their organisations.

Organisations can use one-off grants (of up to $5000 including GST) towards the purchase of equipment and/or modifications that will eliminate or reduce risks to health and safety.

Applications for the final round of equipment grants will be accepted until March 31st, 2010.

To be eligible for an OHS Equipment Grant, organisations must:

  • Be Victorian
  • Be non-government
  • Be not-for-profit
  • Have at least one paid employee

Priority will be given to applications for equipment to reduce or eliminate risks associated with:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) such as muscle sprains and strains, back injuries etc.
  • Stress
  • Occupational Violence

Organisations are encouraged to obtain a free health and safety audit prior to submitting an application for a grant to assist them to identify hazards and come up with solutions.

To find out all you need to know about the grants priority areas, eligibility and how to apply, please visit www.communityohs.org.au/ohs-equipment-grants/

Applicants must contact VCOSS to discuss items to be requested prior to the beginning the application process.
