Funding for 10 Social Innovation Ideas – Applications Open
4 March 2010 at 3:39 pm
The Australian Centre for Social Innovation has launched the ‘Bold Ideas Better Lives Challenge’ to support social innovation projects in Australia.
The Bold Ideas Better Lives Challenge will support 10 projects that show the best and brightest ideas in social innovation across Australia – with up to $1 million dollars available in funding.
Ideas can deal with anything from healthcare to education, climate change to the internet – as long as it addresses a social need faced by communities in Australia.
The challenge is open to any individual, group or organisation with a bright idea – however, ideas must primarily benefit a community within Australia.
Ideas will be judged against the following:
- Innovation: The creativity and innovation of the idea (this may include older ideas that have not been tried out in practice or in a particular context)
- Impact: The relevance of the idea to the Australian context and the degree of benefit and lasting impact on the social sector and the community
- Implementation: The practicality of the idea and ability to muster the resources needed to implement/replicate the idea plus the risks of implementation.
To apply, fill in the application and upload a 60 second media clip pitching your idea. Judges will then shortlist 10 ideas to be developed further, before the final winners are announced in October.

Applications close on Friday April 23rd.
