AbaF Awards Arts Scholarships

Six arts company leaders will go to Australia’s top business schools for free executive development, thanks to scholarships awarded by the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF).
AbaF’s Margaret Lawrence Bequest Scholarships enable arts professionals to participate in Melbourne Business School or Australian Graduate School of Management programs, with all course and accommodation fees and travel expenses paid. The latest round of winners commence their courses early in 2010.
The total value of scholarships awarded in this round is $58,195. The value of each scholarship depends on which program has been chosen.
The scholarship winners and their chosen programs are:
- James Beck, Artistic Manager, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, NSW will participate in the Senior Manager Program at Melbourne Business School
- Nicole Beyer, Manager, Theatre Network Victoria will participate in The Emotionally Intelligent Leader at Melbourne Business School
- Beth Flatley, General Manager, Queensland Writers Centre Association Inc will participate in the Senior Managers Program at Melbourne Business School
- Jeremy Gaden, Programming Manager, Footscray Community Arts Centre, VIC will participate in the Strategic Leadership Program at Melbourne Business School
- Phip Murray, Director,West Space Inc, VIC will participate in theLeadership Development Program at Melbourne Business School
- Caroline Stacey, CEO/Artistic Director, The Street Theatre, ACT will participate in Strategic Leadership: The Transformational Process, at Melbourne Business School.
Since the program began in 2006, AbaF has presented 64 scholarships valued at a total of more than $575,000 to arts managers
