SBS Donates Charity Airtime in 2010
21 December 2009 at 4:24 pm
More than 20 charities were chosen in 2009 to receive 12 months worth of airtime to raise awareness of their charity or cause.
SBS Managing Director Shaun Brown says the SBS Foundation was created so SBS could build better partnerships with charities and Not for Profits and help them to achieve their goals.
In 2009 SBS received more than 500 applications for support.
Brown says that during the past 12 months SBS staff have been working together with the SBS Foundation partners to maximise the value of their allotted airtime and assist them to achieve the results they want from their on-air campaigns.
To be eligible for support from the SBS Foundation charities or Not for Profits must complete the online application form available at www.sbs.com.au/foundation.
Nominations close at 5pm (DEST) Friday, February 19 2010.
SBS will announce the successful charities in March 2010 and the partnership period will be from 1 April 2010 until 31 March 2011.
