PROJECT FUTURES director, 24 year old Stephanie Lorenzo had been invited to a benefit dinner in Beverley Hills, Los Angeles this month in recognition of her efforts to inspire Gen Y Australians to get involved in the causes they care about.

The event is to be hosted by actress Sally Field, with the event committee including celebrity A-listers Susan Sarandon, Jane Seymour and Ron Livingston.

Ms Lorenzo’s invitation came from the Board of the Somaly Mam Foundation to attend their annual “Night of Hopes and Dreams” benefit dinner in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on 29th September 2009.

Lorenzo says the invitation is global acknowledgment of her organisation’s efforts to inspire Australian 20-somethings to get involved in the causes they care about through PROJECT FUTURES.

PROJECT FUTURES, a charity network run by Gen Ys for Gen Ys, creates it says unique events to engage their peers in charitable causes. With two events, PROJECT FUTURES raised over $110,000 for the Somaly Mam Foundation and raised awareness in Australia for child sex trafficking.

Lorenzo says this event is a major step in the right direction for PROJECT FUTURES, as they are in the process of looking for sponsorship for upcoming events and focusing on businesses with Gen Y as their target market.
