Heloise Waislitz Oration
17 August 2009 at 3:50 pm
Kylie Charlton will give the Heloise Waislitz Oration, ‘Does profit belong in the social investment landscape’ in Sydney and Melbourne in early September
Charlton will present her experiences with impact investment – profit generation investment for social and environmental good – and how the profit dynamic may play its part in the social investment landscape in Australia.
The fellowship was established at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Social Investment and Philanthropy in 2001 by Swinburne University and the Pratt Foundation. The fellowship is designed to bring to Australia a leading figure in the field to research, teach and promote philanthropy and social investment.
Charlton, the Heloise Waislitz Fellow 2009, is a founding team member of Unitas Capital, a financial advisory firm specialising in arranging capital for microfinance institutions (MFIs) and other social enterprises benefiting those at the bottom of the economic pyramid.
