Heloise Waislitz Fellow Presentation
22 June 2009 at 5:15 pm
The winner of this year’s Heloise Waislitz Fellowship, Kylie Charlton, will be presenting at an event in Melbourne this week.
Charlton’s research will look at the theme ‘Can For-Profit be For Good?’ in the context of participation of Australian investment dollars through impact investing in the work of social entrepreneurs both in Australia and more broadly throughout the Asia Pacific.
The annual Fellowship at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Social Investment and Philanthropy at Swinburne University, was established through a grant from The Pratt Foundation. The Fellowship is specifically directed at bringing to Australia a leading figure in the study, teaching and promotion of philanthropy and social investment.
Thursday’s event will be an opportunity for members of the philanthropic community to hear about the work Charlton has been doing in the US over the past five years and looking at how utilizing a combination of philanthropic and investment capital can enhance impact.
