The Business for Millennium Development Summit (B4MD) is a unique opportunity for business to play a part in opening new markets and at the same time, make a real impact on reducing poverty.
The Summit will take place in Melbourne on 23-24 October.
B4MD will bring together some of the world’s leading thinkers and industry figures to challenge the way business engages with low-income communities in emerging markets.
There will be a panel of international and national speakers including James Wolfensohn, the former president of the World Bank and Shawn Murphy, Executive Director of Morgan Stanley in the UK.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd called on business leaders in Australia to take part in the Summit to consider initiatives that apply to their core business skills in a way that is both commercially viable and at the same time will help alleviate poverty in the region.
