Volunteering Australia National Conference
16 June 2008 at 12:18 pm
The 12th National Conference on Volunteering will be held in September on the Gold Coast – the first time outside of Victoria – with the theme Catch the New Waves.
This year’s conference will explore the issues that affect the 5.4 million Australians who volunteer and will highlight current and emerging trends in volunteering and discuss their relevance to social inclusion, community capacity building and corporate social responsibility.
Volunteering Australia CEO, Cary Pedicini says the conference will play a significant role in bringing together CEOs from Not for Profit organisations, volunteer managers, policy makers, government officials, corporations, researchers, academics and volunteers to examine the shift in the way people are volunteering, flexibility in volunteer management and the changing demographic of the volunteer.
As part of the Conference VA will host the second Research Symposium on Volunteering, a unique forum for researchers in the field of volunteering to come together to share research ideas, practices and strategies for fostering increased research in this growing field of endeavour.
Pedicini says as well as providing a unique opportunity for broad discussion and information exchange on volunteering issues, these two events also offer the chance to engage in informal networking opportunities.
Early bird registrations close next Friday 20th June (save $100).
