Indigenous Leadership Network Victoria

The Indigenous Leadership Network (ILNV) is a newly established Indigenous organisation that aims to support the future directions of Indigenous leadership in Victoria.
The newly appointed Executive Director Deborah Walsh says the vision of the ILNV is to bring together information, resources and people to inform and build the capacity of Indigenous leadership in Victoria and more importantly to influence the development of key policy directions that can assist in shaping the future for Indigenous Victorians.
Walsh is a Gungarri woman who has an extensive background working in policy and service delivery and draws experience from her many years of working in both the Commonwealth and State Government sectors and the Indigenous community of Victoria.
Walsh says the key priorities that are driving ILNV have come from the "Conference 21 – Positioning our Future" held in Melbourne back in 2003 which was attended by well over 300 people (both Indigenous and non-Indigenous).
As a result of Conference 21, she says a future directions plan has been developed which will guide the important work of the ILNV for the next 5 years.
The ILNV is also looking for members to support this new organisation to achieve its vision for Indigenous leadership in Victoria.
