Executive Mentors Moves to Second Phase
30 July 2007 at 12:16 pm
Nonprofit Australia has now moved into the second phase of its mentoring program for Not for Profit leaders called Leadership Link. The program matches proven business executives as mentors for NFP CEOs and senior managers.
Mentors include chief executives from leading corporations, seasoned functional specialists and those with a track record leveraging their expertise as mentors. They commit to Nonprofit Australia and the NPF executive for a 12 month structured partnership.
Nonprofit Australia says the results of the first phase of the pilot are impressive.
Participants have scored the program at 4.5 out of 5 for the quality of the program and the calibre of their mentor. The ten participants in the pilot (of which two thirds are chief executives, one third senior managers) report strong outcomes including:
– Building their leadership and management capability
– Increased ability to think through challenges more effectively
– Achievement of specific organisational and job outcomes
– Improved confidence
One NFP chief executive says that being in the program made him take some time out for his own personal development and one of the best things has been the challenges to his thinking.
Nonprofit Australia has a few places available for their upcoming programs in Sydney (13 August) and Melbourne (13 September). The closing date for expressions of interest for 2007 programs is 20 July.
