The Charity Golf Card

It sounds like a handicap with a difference – but it is a new fundraising tool launched in Western Australia that can benefit Not for Profits across the country – even if you can’t play golf!
It’s called the Charity Golf Card and it is the brainchild of the innovative WA Not for Profit Westcare which says it created the card to help make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
Westcare currently employs 123 people with disabilities, accommodates and guides another 50 individuals.
Not only will the funds generated from an annual Charity Golf Card membership go towards helping Westcare clients, $15 from the annual $99 fee will go to the member’s nominated charity!
But what do you get for your membership?
In conjunction with Golfcourseguides.com, the Card promises to provide substantial golf related benefits such as discounts on rounds of golf at more than 200 courses across Australia, golfing tours and accommodation as well as discounts at more than 1500 restaurants, oceanic cruises, home and garden furnishings, insurances, fitness clubs, cinema tickets and motor vehicle rentals.
Westcare’s CEO Peter Beaton says he believes many golfers will take up the opportunity to receive great benefits in a novel way that will assist people with disabilities. But it is open to anyone who wants to get involved.
He says the benefits to other Not for profits could also be substantial.
Westcare estimates that the average charity could earn $10-$20,000 from their regular supporters.
