Grants to Help Aussie Animals

Voiceless, a non-profit Australian animal protection group, is calling for applications for its annual grants program.
Over a $100,000 will be awarded to Not for Profit organisations, councils and universities that are working to improve the lives of animals in Australia.
Voiceless was established in 2004 with the aim of promoting respect and compassion for animals. Voiceless works towards this end by giving grants to organisations that share its vision, modifying or creating policies and laws to protect animals and educating Australians and in particular, young Australians about animal protection.
The Voiceless Grants Program is intended to financially support like-minded organisations to enable them to take action for animals in Australia.
Applications must be project based and projects must aim to either:
A. Change attitudes and/or increase awareness about animal protection (e.g. higher education, or community programs that educate about animal issues; public awareness campaigns on an animal issue etc); or
B. Encourage the public to take action for animals in their personal lives (e.g. making changes in their consumer choices by choosing animal-friendly products or diet); or
C. Work to modify or create new laws or policies to further animal protection in Australia.
In 2006 Voiceless is also inviting tenders for specific projects including key academic reports and cutting edge animal law projects. Corporate sponsors, Bio-Distributors and Morinda Pty Ltd will fund two projects aimed specifically at ‘lifting the veil of secrecy’ on factory farming.
