ATO Help for New NFP Administrators

If you are a new treasurer, office bearer or employee involved in Not for Profit administration the Australian Tax Office has produced an induction package to assist you in your role.
This package is also useful for existing administrators, as it contains an overview of relevant tax issues and links to other sections of the ATO website.
It offers basic advice from getting started as a Not for Profit and obtaining an Australian Business Number to the type of tax concessions available to NFPs.
It outlines obligations to employees and contractors, explains fundraising issues such as Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, as well as record keeping and state and territory government taxes and duties.
