Community Connectivity
The Department of Communications Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA) has released discussion papers to provide and bring together current research in relation to the role of ICT in the community, in building social capital and in the Not for Profit sector.
Interested parties are invited to provide comments and submissions on
the issues raised in these papers.
ICT in Communities
The role and impact of ICT in building stronger communities and social cohesion, including contributing to the formation of social capital, highlighting approaches taken by governments and communities and presenting case studies of good practice.
Social Impacts of ICT
The extent to which all Australians participate in the economic and social benefits of the information economy, with particular attention to enabling the participation of isolated populations and economically and socially disadvantaged groups such as Indigenous Australians, older Australians, people with disabilities and low income families ( ‘digital inclusion’).
ICT and the Nonprofit Sector
The use of ICT in the Not for Profit sector to make operations more efficient, better serve and connect with their clients and members and to work together to improve their communities and presenting case studies of good practice.

The Department anticipates using the results of this consultation to inform future activities and policy directions.
