ATO and Gift Funds
15 September 2003 at 1:09 pm

Organisations that are endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as deductible gift recipients (DGRs) must maintain a gift fund.

To help organisations understand the gift fund requirements, the ATO has a web page fact sheet answering frequently asked questions on how to set up, maintain and wind up a gift fund.

The ATO says the failure of some DGRs to comply with the gift fund requirements puts their concessional status in jeopardy, and is a compliance focus for the Tax Office in 2003-2004.

Pro Bono Australia has downloaded the Fact Sheet into Word format. If you would like an electronic copy send us a email to probono@probonoaustralia.com.au.
