National Sponsorship Marketing Conference
4 August 2003 at 1:08 pm
Need to hear about sponsorships from those active within the industry? Looking for an opportunity to rub shoulders with decision makers of sponsorship? The Australasian Sponsorship Marketing Association (ASMA) National Sponsorship Marketing Conference for 2003 is being held this month.
Adam Jeffrey National President of ASMA says sponsorship as a discipline is often unfairly placed outside of mainstream marketing.
Yet, Jeffrey says when undertaken effectively it provides strong consumer responses, brand acknowledgment and measurable deliverables which complement traditional marketing methods.
He says this conference is about sharing learnings across the industry. The sponsorship industry is adversarial by nature with sponsors and sponsorship seekers (sponsees) on face value starting the process from opposite poles of the budget spectrum.
Jeffrey says the challenges of bringing these parties together in a win:win partnership, have been embraced by many participants, with both parties demonstrating creative solutions either through a one on one relationship, or through the strong secondary market of service providers which has emerged within the industry.
ASMA says it is committed to providing opportunities which bring together participants of the sponsorship industry to share their experiences, establish new contacts and to learn about current trends.
This Sydney event will bring together a range of dynamic people from the sponsorship marketplace, and aligned areas catering for every part of the industry including presentations by provocative key note speakers, streamed sponsor and sponsee sessions; interactive panel discussions, award winning case studies, networking opportunities and round table discussions.
ASMA has secured an impressive line up of speakers from organisations such as the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Clayton Utz, Commonwealth Bank, Surf Lifesaving Australia, Austereo, Actew AGL, Telstra Country Wide and the QLD Arts Council plus case studies from four best practice case-studies featured at the recently announced 2003 AFR Magazine Corporate Partnership Awards and the 2003 AbaF Awards.
This event will be an opportunity to be educated about current trends and to network with peers from the sponsorship industry. Delegates to date represent large corporate sponsors, sponsorship seekers and service providers and herald from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and New Zealand.
The 2003 conference will be held at the Menzies Hotel in Sydney on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th August.
