Philanthropy & Social Investment- Grad Certificate

Enrolments are now being accepted for the Graduate Certificate of Social Science (Philanthropy and Social Investment) to be conducted by the Asia-Pacific Centre for Philanthropy and Social Investment at Swinburne University of Technology, commencing in Semester 2, 2003.
This unique program will offer highly focused study and practical skills development for those involved in philanthropy, giving, grant-making and social investment in private, family, corporate, governmental or NGO settings, whether personally or as managers, advisors, consultants, or public affairs or program officers.
The Graduate Certificate will be conducted on a part-time basis over Semester 2, 2003 and Semester 1, 2004, and will comprise the following four subjects:
· An Introduction to Philanthropy and Social Investment
· The Practice of Effective Grant-making
· Research and Policy
· Corporate Social Investment (or, by arrangement, Personal and Family Grant-making).
Students who successfully complete these subjects may elect to proceed to the Graduate Diploma of Social Science (Philanthropy and Social Investment).
Most subjects will require students to attend sessions delivered over intensive two or three day blocks at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus.
Students are eligible for deferred payment of the subject fees of $1,900 (inclusive of the general service fee) through the Postgraduate Education Loans Scheme (PELS).
