The Third Sector is growing in response to changes in government services and growing community concern about social responsibility and sustainability.

However, a typically under-resourced Third Sector organisation needs smart leadership and management. Getting these skills can be difficult, so a collaborative group of specialists and researchers has put together an intensive Not for Profit leadership residential program for April 2003.

The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), together with Queensland University of Technology, have put together the four-day program to provide an opportunity to explore contemporary issues and develop the personal effectiveness required in NFP organisations. The program is supported by the Fundraising Institute – Australia.

Leading Non-Profit Organisations will provide the skills to develop and improve personal effectiveness as a manager and leader.

The program includes the opportunity to work in small teams to design a presentation that you will deliver to a panel of philanthropists. They will give you feedback and you will then debrief with the whole group, thus maximising your chance to directly utilise and apply your learning from the program.

This focus on practical application is integral to the learning design. You will be able to integrate the new skills and knowledge directly back into your organisation and its culture.

Recommended for senior managers and leaders of non-profit organisations, board members and professionals with fundraising responsibilities.
