Law & Justice Foundation Awards 2002

The Law and Justice Foundation of NSW is calling for nominations for the 2002 Justice Awards – offering a chance for Pro Bono Australia readers to add their voice in recognising the contributions made to improving access to justice.
This year the following awards will be presented:
The Justice Medal will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in improving access to justice in NSW, particularly for socially and economically disadvantaged people.
The Aboriginal Justice Award will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving access to justice for Aboriginal people in NSW. The Award is sponsored by the NSW Attorney General’s Department.
The Rural and Regional Justice Award celebrates 2002 Year of the Outback and will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving access to justice in NSW, particularly in rural and regional NSW.
The Bar Association Law and Justice Volunteer Award will be presented to an individual who, in a voluntary capacity, has demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving access to justice, particularly for socially and economically disadvantaged people. The Law and Justice Volunteer Award is proudly sponsored by the NSW Bar Association.
The PILCH Award will be presented to an individual lawyer who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the PILCH scheme in NSW.
The Combined Community Legal Centres Group Award will be presented to an individual who, in a voluntary capacity in a NSW community legal centre, has demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving access to justice in NSW, particularly for socially and economically disadvantaged people.
The Law Society President’s Award and the Legal Information Access Centre’s (LIAC) Centres of Excellence Award will also be presented at this year’ s Justice Awards.
The 2002 Justice Awards will be presented at a dinner at NSW Parliament House on Monday 11 November 2002. Tickets are $90.00 per person, with a special price of $55.00 per person for community sector workers.
