Legal Facts Sheets - From GST to Privacy
10 December 2001 at 12:12 pm

Law firm Allens Arthur Robinson and the Public Interest Law Clearing House (PILCH) got together recently to run a free seminar by specialist practitioners called ‘Need to Know”, offering information to Not for Profit organisations on issues from GST to Privacy.

Seven half-hour presentations addressed issues of fundraising, obtaining and maintaining tax deductibility status, tax reform, choosing the right legal entity, corporate governance and privacy.

The highly successful event has had a great spin-off for Not for Profits around Australia interested in these topics….Allens Arthur Robinson has supplied Pro Bono Australia with FREE Fact Sheets covering all the topics covered in the seminar so that we can make them available to our readers!

The information offers six individual Fact Sheets and one Brief Overview in PDF format that can be e-mailed to you.

Choose from the list below or request all seven!

Fact Sheet Number 1 The new tax system and non-profit organisations
Fact Sheet Number 2 Tax changes affecting gift deductibility
Fact Sheet Number 3 Tax changes affecting income tax exempt charities
Fact Sheet Number 4 Choosing the right structure for your organisation
Fact Sheet Number 5 Australian charitable fundraising legislation – a state by state summary
Fact Sheet Number 6 Key duties of directors of charities
Brief Overview 1 National Privacy Principles

AAR Partner, Graeme Johnson says readers must keep in mind that the law is fluid and some details in the Fact Sheets may have been superseded in some states since going to print. One example is in Victoria where legislative changes have since been made to the Fundraising Act.

Please make your e-mail request for the Fact Sheet(s) to probono@probonoaustralia.com.au.
