Our recent article on salary packaging in the Not for Profit sector saw a flurry of interest and opinions on our Forum site. Now there is a chance to find out more plus a special offer to our readers in South Australia.
Issues of simplicity and relevance and even opportunity continue to be debated within the sector and two experts are taking the topic ‘on-the-road’ to offer answers to the much asked questions.
Anton Gaudry, National Tax Manager and Kaye Bowles from the Australian Tax Office FBT team will be in Adelaide in August to deliver a session on “Salary Packaging for Not for Profits- Are You Getting It Right?.
The opportunity to get an update on salary sacrifice issues that are relevant to the sector will be followed by a panel sessions to discuss your questions.
Anton Gaudy will cover a wide range of tax issues. On salary packaging he will discuss the calculations from 1 April 2001, including the ceiling, maximising your package, types of benefits to avoid the ceiling and payment summary disclosures of Fringe Benefits.
Kaye Bowles will provide an ATO overview of essential FBT matters as they relate to the Not for Profit and charitable organisations as well as salary sacrifice from the ATO’s point of view. The event is sponsored by CPA Australia and the National Institute of Accountants.
Gaudy says the benefits of a session like this will be to remove uncertainty and ensure that reporting requirements are accurate.
Sessions in other states will be arranged depending on interest.
The cost of the two-hour session is $77 and as a special offer to Pro Bono Australia e-Newsletter readers, the first person/organisation to e-mail us for a registration form from South Australia will win one FREE registration!
