Earth Share Australia has formalised its work place giving partnerships “Give As You Earn” in two states.
In its April 2001 report, Earth Share announces that four NSW Government agencies have been selected to participate in the initial pilot program.
The organisations are Sydney water, The State Transit Authority, The Heritage Office and the Department of Gaming and Racing.
Each organisation is at a different stage of development. However Earth Share says Sydney Water in particular is making a significant investment in the program with a staff member specifically allocated to the project with a budgetary commitment.
In Queensland the Education Minister Anna Bligh will formally launch the Give As You Earn program on May 22nd.
This scheme involves Earth Share, OzGive, 30 Queensland community groups, government departments and a significant number of private sector employers.
As well the Brisbane City Council has distributed promotional material to all its staff and a program may be up and running within two months.
As well Earth Share says there are expressions of interest for work place fundraising from the Victorian Premier, Steve Bracks. In the ACT, the Chief Minister’s office has made a recommendation to its Director General that the ACT introduce a universal workplace fund raising partnership.
Earth Share says it is in the process of organising meetings with the department to plan an implementation Program.
