Brain Foundation Women of Achievement Award
20 November 2000 at 12:11 pm

The Brain Foundation will honour women who have contributed to society beyond the commercial world, as part of the 2000 Women of Achievement Award Luncheon on Wednesday 22nd November.

Because of the Foundation’s charitable and health related charter, it has promoted women who have contributed to society in ways which may not be commonly championed by business women’s associations.

This year it sought nominations of scientists, health professionals, social justice workers, artists, writers, media, board members and executives of Not for Profit organisations.

The Brain Foundation has been providing support to people who have acquired brain injury (particularly stroke), and their carers as well as sponsoring research into the prevention of stroke and other neurological disorders, since the 1970s.

The annual Women of Achievement Award is in its tenth year and will be held at the Hotel Windsor in Melbourne. For more information contact the Brain Foundation on 03 9882 2203 or by e-mail at admin@brainfoundation.org.au.
