Stroll Up Australia Success

Congratulations to Sydneysider, Mark Virtue for his fund raising walk from the lowest point in Australia to the highest…well just a smidgen under! Mark has raised almost $6000 for Sydney’s homeless through the work of Mission Australia.

As we told you in our last e-Newsletter, Mark’s courageous journey was tracked on the Internet at www.strollupaustralia.com/index.htm. After three weeks on the road starting from the Sydney Harbour tunnel and aiming for Mount Kosciusko, Mark was forced back by extreme weather at Mount Crackenback just 300 vertical metres short of his destination. A fabulous effort!

Mark is resting back home in Sydney and says he is very grateful to all those people who helped him and made donations along the way. The Internet site has some great pictures of his walking adventures. Maybe he’ll write the book next!
