Charity Games

No it’s not a rival to the Olympic Games but it is a new game. A board game called Charity – The Generous Game. And it’s become a new fundraising game for The National Stroke Foundation.
Its promoters say the new game for the whole family is destined to become as well known as Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly but with a huge difference. Twenty percent of the cost of the game comes back to a line up of ten charities, which includes The National Stroke Foundation. (That’s about 75 cents a game for each charity)
Andrew Iacuone from the Foundation says the NSF is a fairly traditional fundraiser but decided to go down the commercial road late last year because there was no cost involved and the contract was very straightforward. In fact there was nothing to lose in joining the other nine charities; Life Line, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Foundation, Barnados, MS, Asthma Foundation, RSPCA, Legacy, Make a Wish and the Royal Blind Society.
By the way the Charity Game is centred on a world trip. Players get an income from a variety of sources en route. But more importantly the players must donate their game money to various charities according to the moves they make and the answers to quiz questions on the featured charities. Ultimately the player with the least money at the end is the winner!
