Finding new ways of giving and receiving funds is always a challenge.

Since October last year The Hunger Site at www.thehungersite.com has operated as the world’s first “Click to Donate” site.

More than 65 million visitors have donated more than 7,700 metric tons of free food to help feed the hungry. They have done this by visiting The Hunger Site daily and simply clicking a button.

The donations of staple food, paid for by The Hunger Site’s sponsors, are distributed to the world’s hunger hot-spots by the United Nations World Food Program.

Corporate sponsors provide the food in exchange for free advertisements and links.

The privacy-protected site is run without profit by John Breen, an Indiana software programmer who initially wanted to support Third World education but decided hunger was the priority.

As his world map strikingly illustrates at The Hunger Site, starvation kills 24,000 people daily, mostly children.
