The organisation
The Customer Owned Banking Association (COBA) is the industry advocate for Australia’s customer owned banking sector. Its purpose is to advocate, champion, connect, strengthen, and evolve so that their members can fulfil their potential
The position
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will advocate for and enable the customer owned banking sector so that more Australians benefit from resilient banking centred on people and communities. You will work closely with the CEO and executive team in a close-knit, flexible, and family-friendly workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Support the promotion of the sector’s value proposition and in articulating COBA’s advocacy objectives.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality communications that are professional, consistent and fit for purpose.
- Take ownership in preparation of insightful and accurate material to support executive communications.
- Collaborate on and execute communications projects.
- Develop and drive business communications strategies.
- Drive communication improvements across all digital channels.
- Build and maintain key relationships.
- Support proactive and reactive media outcomes.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:
- Superior written and communication skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to convey complex information into key messages suitable for target audiences.
- Strong presentation, networking and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Capability to work well under pressure with effective time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Extensive experience researching, developing and writing articles for use across multiple platforms.
- Knowledge of current social media and digital communication tools, rules, processes and procedures.
- Relevant qualifications in communications, journalism, corporate affairs or another related discipline.
This role can be based in the Sydney or Canberra office with flexible working conditions.
