As Australia’s largest independent community foundation, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation (LMCF) leads innovative and inspired philanthropy to create positive social change. This includes granting, community engagement, partnerships, research, sharing knowledge, influencing policy and impact investment.
  
Annually, the Foundation provides grants of $12 million to not-for-profit organisations throughout Greater Melbourne to increase life opportunities and promote social inclusion. Key impact areas include: Homelessness & Affordable Housing; Inclusive, Sustainable Economy & Jobs; Health & Climate Resilient Communities; Generous Melbourne; and Environment & Sustainability.
  
Reporting to the Major Gifts Specialist, and in collaboration with the General Manager – Fund Development, the Board, Senior Leadership Team and Committees, the Stewardship Specialist is a newly-created role designed to support LMCF to steward donors, secure pledges and cultivate opportunities for future gifts.
  
This vital and interesting role has broad responsibilities including:

  • Managing stewardship activities within the Foundation, in alignment to budget, values and project briefs
  • Writing grant applications, donor reports, acquittals, cases for support and gift agreements
  • Planning and delivering small bespoke events for donors and guests •Donor research, administration and database support
  • Engagement and communication with key donors, advisors, committees and partners   

About you
You are a collaborative team player who is able to successfully manage various projects in a busy environment. In addition, you will have highly developed stakeholder and donor management skills, providing high levels of service to ensure exceptional donor stewardship, engagement  . You will have exceptional written communication skill including the ability to write successful grant applications and cases for support.
  
Experience

  • Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge experience preferred
  • Experience developing cases for support and writing compelling grant applications
  • Strong communications, stakeholder engagement and prospect research skills
  • Experience supporting a comprehensive, capital or capacity campaign is beneficial
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in one of the Foundation’s impact areas; or in philanthropy, finance or NFP studies. CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) highly regarded
