Respite Centre Assistant

This position will be for 12 hours per week (2 day) support the needs of CALD carers who care for a person living with dementia at home.

We are seeking an outstanding Respite Centre Assistant who can demonstrate:

Key Responsibilities include:

• Suitable preparation of the environment and activities to cater for individual needs 
• Facilitate, stimulate and/or extend client interaction with and involvement in various group activities
• Constant use of positive guidance techniques throughout the program, e.g., acknowledging attempts at independent behaviour, positive feedback, increasing levels of responsibility for tasks and decisions, etc. 

Key selection criteria include:

• Experience in working with elderly in community settings and running groups
• Demonstrate ability to work in clients with high care needs and clients living with dementia
• Demonstrate empathetic and supportive attitude
