The Role:
The Philanthropy Manager is a key member of MCM’s Philanthropy, Partnerships and Brand Team. This important role is the conduit between Philanthropic individuals and entities, and the people who MCM work besides with the provision of essential services.   Collaboration with key external philanthropic entities, management and individuals, as well as MCM internal stakeholders, is pivotal to developing trust and loyalty, resulting in strong long-term relationships. 

Reporting to the GM, Philanthropy, Partnerships and Brand, you will be responsible for:
  • Driving the financial success of the relationship 
  • This will include the identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and recognition of philanthropic opportunities including trusts and foundations, PAFS, corporate sector and high net-worth individuals
  • Alignment of MCM’s strategic business priorities with the philanthropist’s interests through compelling cases for support and acquittals is paramount
  • A key responsibility of the role is to develop and nurture rewarding mutually beneficial long-term partnerships through a portfolio of philanthropic trusts and foundations
  • Generate maximum income from a range of revenue streams to enable MCM to deliver services
  • Build positive long-term relationships and partnerships that generate significant revenue
  • Minimise costs to deliver the best ROI
  • Increase MCM’s positive brand awareness
  • Delivering key external and internal events, including MCM’s signature event: Sleep at the ‘G

The Candidate: 

The successful candidate will have:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or a minimum of five years experience in philanthropy or fundraising, or marketing 
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, 
  • Experience developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, both external and internal
  • Ability to research and prioritise philanthropic opportunities that align to MCM business priorities and best ROI
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and writing of successful philanthropic funding submissions and proposals
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Knowledge of fundraising and philanthropy best practice and legislation
  • Experience using a donor management system, preferably Raiser’s Edge

A competitive salary is on offer for this role, + superannuation  as a full time, permanent role. Attractive PBI/NFP salary packaging is also available.
