About the role

The Role

 We are seeking a motivated and passionate support officer to work with and support employee’s in our environmental services department. This will involve days off site and on site. The  Support Officer’s main responsibility is to support Supported Employees across the organisation. The HR Support Officer partners with necessary stakeholders to support the goals and outcomes of Supported Employees. This is a NDIS service delivery focussed role, targeted on training and goal orientated supports. 

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Coordination of parts of the employee life cycle including induction, onboarding, training, and personal development plans
  • Developing strong relationships with supported employees
  • Hands on approach to training. Developing the on the job work skills of our supported employees and then recording these activities.
  • Providing supports in accordance with Policies,  NDIS Standards and Code of Conduct. 
  • Collaborate and participate in HR projects as required. 
  • Completion of work trial reports to maximise the successful transition of supported employees to permanent employment under the supported wage system model. 
  • Offsite support with employees who are engaging with our Environmental services. 

To be successful in this role, you have: 

  • Certificate IV in Disability Studies or Human Resources (or working towards)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective Prioritisation and Organisation Skills
  • Community Service background preferred but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate respectfully to all staff and clients
  • Ability to work independently and within a team. 
  • Valid Driver’s licence, and own transport. 
  • An understanding of  NDIS Supported Employment and the Supported Wage system.  
  • Working With Children’s check (or willing to obtain). 
  • NDIS Clearance check (or willing to obtain).
