Established in 1981, SNAICC – National Voice for our Children is the national non-government peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. SNAICC’s vision is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families are protected, our communities determine their own futures, and our cultural identity is valued. We work to amplify the voice of community and the sector for the fulfilment of the rights of our children.
SNAICC plays a key role in the following areas:
- Research and policy development, with high-level leadership, policy papers and sector representation
- Training and resource design, development and delivery including topics such as early childhood development, partnerships, family support, trauma, and cultural competency
- Support for sector development, membership, and networking
About the role
Full Time | Fixed term – 2025
Hybrid work model (remote may be considered)
$120,037 – $125,520 + 11% super & salary packaging options

SNAICC – National Voice for Our Children is growing quickly whilst continuing to grow and is looking to expand its policy team as it takes on many exciting systemic advocacy and research projects that will improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
The role of Manager, Special Projects position provides the opportunity for leadership of major reform processes that SNAICC is supporting. This includes, for example, the establishment of a new peak body for Aboriginal children and families in South Australia, and a scoping study for the design of a new National Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child and Family Support”.
We are looking for someone who:
- has previous experience in management, policy, research and/or advocacy roles across any sector;
- has strong writing skills, including developing reports, submissions and papers;
- are great analytical thinkers, and a leader who can connect the dots and build a strong evidence base for policy and advocacy initiatives;
- has a broad knowledge and understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families; and
- is passionate about learning and continually developing their skills and experience.
