The Organisation
  
Construction Charitable Works (CCW) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the CFMEU ACT. CCW provides a wide range of welfare and support services for CFMEU members within the building and construction industry, their families and the ACT Construction community. CCW provides workers and their families confidential, professional counselling, first response counselling to workers involved in near misses or accidents and referral to a range of specialised mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and counselling services.

  • Salary range $161,809 – $173,323K (includes FBT exempt salary packaging)

The Role

Leading a small team, this role is an interesting blend of responsibilities, requiring you to draw on your experience and qualifications in both general business management and ideally the delivery of therapeutic services. You will oversee the management of the organisation, staff management, case management and if qualified provide counselling and or facilitation of for union members. Additionally, you will develop and secure partnerships with government, industry, stakeholders and other relevant bodies.
  
Other responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the agendas and reports for governing board
  • Financial and budget management in consultation with CFO
  • Development of governance and case management policies and procedures
  • Identification of funding partnerships, grant opportunities and relationship management
  • Project development and implementation of solutions relating to mental health
  • Providing analysis and advice relating to mental health to management and Government

Skills Required

You have well developed people management and ideally therapeutic experience, developed from the management of a small business, service provider or not-for-profit. Ideally you are a member of a registered counselling body with a track record of providing individual counselling services inclusive of individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, drug and alcohol impacted or socio-economically vulnerable people.
  
Additional skills you will offer include:

  • Collaborative team leadership, organisational management and financial acumen
  • Demonstrated experience managing grant applications and funding opportunities
  • Project management, service planning, development and service monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in trauma informed therapy or drug and alcohol counselling or similar
  • A commitment to union values and ability to work closely with union officers
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or welfare
