Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Support Officer is responsible for supporting daily finance operations, maintaining the general ledger system, assisting with the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, assisting with the preparation of annual project budgets and updated project forecasts across the business as well as assisting with regulatory reporting and reviewing fortnightly payroll calculations.
Key responsibilities include;
• Work closely with the CFO and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider overseeing operational finance processing & reconciliations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, petty cash & credit card expenditure.
• Act as the first point of contact for all finance related queries.
• Assist the CFO to oversee the finance systems – MYOB Advanced, ProSpend (Formerly Expense Manager).
• Raise Purchase Orders in ProSpend.
• Review the fortnightly staff payroll and assist with ad hoc reporting requests.
• Prepare the annual Budget in collaboration with business units and the CFO.
• Support management accounting processes related to project quarterly forecasting, including variance report of budget tracking against actual and forecast.
• Review monthly reconciliation, accrual and employee provision reports and distribute completed P&L statements to cost centre managers.
• Assist the CFO to prepare Management, Board, End of Year, and ad hoc reports, etc.
The ideal candidate will have completed or be working towards a CA/CPA qualification and have the ability to apply accounting processes effectively with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Interpersonally you are bright, engaging, confident, and can easily build strong professional relationships across an organisation and enjoy a challenge. Previous experience running and analysing a range of Finance reports including profit and loss accounts and experience with MYOB and Pro Spend (previously Expense Manager) will be preferred but not essential.
