About the organisation
In partnership with key agencies of the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania, Wesley Church Melbourne is excited to be launching a new Centre to enhance understanding and debate on vital issues in Australian society. Grounded in the history, theology and traditions of the Uniting Church in Australia, the Centre will focus on broad, deep and substantial explorations of the values and ethics that underlie public policy. It will draw together people with diverse views and create a space for honest, thoughtful conversations about what is at stake and how the Gospel of Jesus Christ could help shape a more just society.
The Centre is seeking to appoint three part-time staff to the initial team. The appointments are for 3 years.
About the role
Role purpose: Director of The Wesley Centre
The Director will lead The Wesley Centre, working with the The Wesley Centre Committee, and the Minister(s), council and congregation of Wesley Church Melbourne to fulfil the Centre’s purpose. The Director will support the establishment of The Wesley Centre in accordance with its vision and direction and serve as the public face and voice of the Centre. Together with The Wesley Centre Committee, the Director will also work to secure additional finances and expand the network of the Centre’s supporters and advocacy relationships. The Director will lead a small team comprising a research officer (EFT 0.6) and an office/events manager (EFT 0.6), and work within the dynamic setting of the new Wesley Place buildings.
