The Role
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the Major Gifts Manager will focus on implementing innovative plans to cultivate, nurture, steward and inspire donors to drive growth in higher-value gifts to support Barnardos’ vital programs.
Additionally, you will:
- Support the planning, development, and implementation of the Major Gifts strategic plan and annual budget
- Hold meaningful interactions with donors through personalised and face to face activities
- Support internal advocacy and other initiatives to grow major gift opportunities and philanthropic culture
- Monitor and report on performance, new funding initiatives, and fundraising activities
- Achieve major gifts revenue target, with expectation for year on year growth across fundraising

Skills Required
You have previous experience motivating donors, philanthropists, and high-net-worth individuals, and have success at securing high value strategic partnerships. Your skills and experience will also include:
- Understanding of relationship-based fundraising, development, sponsorship, or sales
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to garner support from a variety of stakeholders
- Strong understanding of prospect research and social impact measurements
- Ability to produce impactful proposals and donor communication
- Growth mindset, with advanced strategic thinking
- Proficiency in budget forecasting and monitoring
