Campaign Lead, Community Health

This is a unique opportunity to join ACON and lead the development, implementation and evaluation of ACON’s sexual, domestic and family violence (SDFV) primary prevention campaigns and suicide prevention campaign.

  • Help contribute to the safety of our communities by working to end violence against LGBTQ+ people / reduce suicides.
  • This varied role across two teams provides an opportunity to work across multiple sectors with the support of a highlight motivated and enthusiastic team focused on LGBTQ+ health and safety.

The Role:

ACON is seeking a committed and vibrant person to lead the development, implementation and evaluation of ACON’s sexual, domestic and family violence primary prevention campaigns and our suicide prevention campaign. We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in conceptualising, developing, delivering and evaluating campaigns or similar, with an understanding of how to produce clear and engaging visual content, with an eye for design.
  • Knowledge and experience in curating content and communicating on social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of the issues involved in preventing sexual, domestic and family violence and suicide.
  • A solid understanding of, commitment to, and connection with, LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Strong writing skills including a proven ability to write media briefings and content for online/social media channels, websites and printed resources.
  • Proven ability to establish and sustain effective relationships and partnerships with other organisations and services, both government and non-government.
  • Applicants must provide evidence of double Covid 19 Vaccination, in addition to any other vaccination required to perform the role.

Location and Position Details:

This position is a 5 day per week role (35 hours) on a contract until 30 June 2024. The role is split across two teams, and you will be working 4 days per week on ACON’s Primary Prevention campaign, and 1 per week on ACON’s suicide prevention campaign (with flexibility to accommodate project deadlines and priorities). ACON offers flexible working arrangements, with the ability to work from home. However, we are looking for a person that can attend and deliver in-person activities, and work from ACON’s Sydney (Surry Hills) office when required.
