About the organisation

Organisation Name : Family Access Network (FAN)

FAN is a community based organisation located in Box Hill, providing a range of services for young people, young families and accompanying children experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including same sex attracted transgender intersex young people.

FAN is a dynamic learning environment, committed to a client-focussed approach built on practice reflection principles. This is underpinned by a range of innovations within the organisation and contribution to sector enhancements through participation in research and/or partnerships and integrated service delivery models.

About the role

The FAN Board continues to implement its strategic plan for continued growth and seeks Board members who can demonstrate specific skills and experience in one or more of the following criteria:

  • Sector, community and business engagement,
  • Accounting and financial management
  • Strategy-execution
  • Research, good practice and innovation
  • Marketing and promotion
  • Whole of operation Risk Management
  • An understanding of NGO governance requirements

The successful applicants will have:

  • Experience with government, public, private or community agencies
  • Governance – previous Board experience or relevant sector experience
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in the Board management and strategic planning for the organisation
  • A commitment to participation as a consistent Board member

Board members are required to commit to FAN’s Service Philosophy, Core Principles, Values and Service Objectives and align their work to the organisation’s practices, protocols and strategic objectives.
