In an Australian first, Not for Profit organisation Good2Give has launched a mobile workplace giving platform in cooperation with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

Good2Give CEO Lisa Grinham said the Not for Profit developed the technology to ensure that it’s “quick and easy” to make donations.

“When it comes to making donations, people… want choice in who they give to, and they want to use the technology at their fingertips,” Grinham said.

“We’ve listened to workplace givers and believe delivering these latest improvements will increase donations.”

Good2Give said the platform had been advanced by the work and cooperation of the ACNC in providing access to credible and navigable charity data.

“Working with the ACNC means we can now provide sophisticated search functionality more efficiently. Employees can search for charities by size and cause area consistent with national standards,” Grinham said.

ACNC Commissioner Susan Pascoe AM said workplace giving had spillover benefits for charities.

“Workplace giving eliminates the need for charities to issue individual tax receipts thus reducing overall administration costs,” Pascoe said.

“We applaud Good2Give’s ability to consolidate donations received from thousands of donors each month to further reduce administration costs of this giving model for charities.”

Grinham said the mobile platform was designed to build connections between donors and causes, as well as other colleagues engaged in workplace giving.

“The platform can showcase multiple charities for a specific company-driven appeal, encouraging employees to rally behind the same issue while also being able to support a charity that resonates with them,” she said.

“Employees can also see which charities are trending among colleagues, how many work mates are also donating, and the collective contribution they’re all having.”

She said over the last 12 months donations had skyrocketed, with a 50 per cent increase in workplace giving.

“This trend is only going to continue with the latest advancements in our platform that eliminates barriers and provides incentives to come back often,” Grinham said.

“It’s encouraging that we’re seeing businesses investing and exploring new ways to promote their programs, followed with increasing number of companies who are beginning to offer workplace giving for the first time.”
