Integrating HR and Volunteering – Survey
21 March 2016 at 11:00 am

A survey has been developed to investigate the relationship between volunteering and human resources, and better understand how organisations can strengthen their practices to achieve long-term sustainability.

The survey, Human Resources & Volunteering – Integration is Good for Business, part of the 2014–2020 Volunteering Strategy for South Australia – Action Plan, invites staff with senior HR responsibility in organisations with large numbers of volunteers, to participate.

The initiative aims to understand the relationship between HR and the volunteer workforce, similarities and differences in approaches, where a shared approach can benefit the organisation, and how to embed these practices into organisational strategies across the sector.

It also recognises that meeting human resource requirements in any organisation is complex, and often exacerbated when the workforce comprises both paid employees and volunteers.

The South Australian strategy works across four sectors – organisations involving volunteers,, business, local and state governments – with the aim of developing positive relationships.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes and is open until 31 March 2016.
