Associations and Charities are to gather in Adelaide for Australia and New Zealand’s premier event for the Not for Profit sector in July.
On the 14 -15 July 2015, Associations Forum will host the largest gathering of Associations and charities in the Southern Hemisphere at the Adelaide Convention Centre, South Australia.
Senior association and charity executives, industry experts and academics will gather for the 10th Associations Forum National Conference to lead discussions on the 2015 conference theme of “Achievements, Developments and Leadership”.
The increasing popularity of the conference has been demonstrated by strong delegate attendance and the sell-out exhibition. The event has a strong reputation of promoting best practice by including informative and practical educational sessions on topics ranging from governance and management issues to communications and technology.
Delegates will have the opportunity to hear first-hand case studies from associations leading the way in their respective industries. Opening this year’s conference on “The big conversations you need to have if you are serious about transforming your association” will be Stephen Durkin, CEO of Engineers Australia. Since Stephen’s appointment as CEO in 2012, Engineers Australia has undergone major transformation to be a more a member-focused organisation with a greater external orientation.
Pauline Vamos, CEO of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia and Linda Noble, CEO of Governance New Zealand will join Stephen in leading a discussion on how associations can build a robust leadership platform and create a burning platform for change.
International speaker and Secretary General of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific, Octavio Peralta, will also add an international perspective to the conference program. Octavio is the founding Chairman of the Philippine Council for the Advancement of Association Executives, an organisation advocating for the professionalisation of association managers and leaders in the Philippines.
The conference will be held in the new Adelaide Convention Centre West Building which is nestled in the centre of a new $AUD3billion Riverbank convention, research and events precinct.
In addition to experiencing the new Adelaide Convention Centre West Building, delegates will have the opportunity to explore the iconic and redeveloped Adelaide Oval and one of the world’s largest biomedical research hubs – South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
Whether you are new to the sector or simply looking for ways to do your job better, the 2015 Associations Forum National Conference will provide you with plenty of educational and networking opportunities.
