Tackling the Not for Profit Stakeholder Partnership

Collaboration between Not for Profits and external stakeholders is increasingly becoming a popular method to create shared value. The simple, yet challenging concept will be a key topic at the upcoming Not for Profit Stakeholder Partnership Conference in Melbourne in June.

The Conference will explore partnerships with Government, corporates, other Not for Profits and other strategic alliances that are becoming crucial to achieving social outcomes and optimising the overall performance and sustainability of an organisation.

The two-day event is presented by Akolade which conducts in-depth research to deliver leading edge conferences, professional training and interactive seminars.

Conference speaker Luke Kenny, the Chief Executive Officer of Church Resources, says the biggest challenge when it comes partnerships is ‘value’.

“It’s first defining each parties desired value, having the conviction to table and negotiate against that value and contractually securing the value. The hardest part is measuring the realisation of that value during and post-partnership,” he said.

The decreasing pool of Government funding and the need to be financially secure and sustainable are the driving force behind partnerships and other forms of strategic alliances.

Conference speaker Ash Knop, the Director of Corporate, Church and Community from World Vision Australia offers his top three insights for an effective partnership.

Keynote speakers include David Locke, Assistant Commissioner Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission and David Crosbie, CEO of Community Council for Australia.

Is this Conference for you? Do you know how to create shared value and work in complementary capacities within a partnership? Do you know how to communicate your brand and mission? Are you aware of how to effectively work through various struggles during a partnership?

This conference will provide you with practical case studies that illustrate collaborative initiatives from across Australia.

This conference will examine:

  • Strategies to clarify leadership and power balance between stakeholders

  • Practical approaches to strengthen  your reputation and integrity

  • Strategies to secure and maintain sustainable relationships

  • Lessons learnt from for-profits from not-for-profits on how to optimise strategic alliances

  • The relationship between brand management and stakeholder partnership

The Not for Profit Stakeholder Partnerships Conference, from June 22 to 23 2015, will provide practical case studies illustrating how to engage in partnerships and other collaborative models for a sustainable future.
