ANZ has announced that it has acquired Shout for Good Pty Ltd, a company which has developed a digital fundraising platform that enables people to donate money to over 150 charities.
The acquisition was completed on Friday 10 April for an undisclosed price.
ANZ CEO of Global Wealth, Joyce Phillips, said the purchase would allow the bank’s customers to donate more easily to charities.
“Our customers are increasingly interested in charitable giving and they’re also turning to mobile devices for information and to facilitate their payments,” Phillips said.
“We wanted to provide a way for our customers to give to charity that’s easy, relevant, simple and transparent. Shout makes donating relevant for everyone by relating donation amounts to everyday purchases such as “shouting” a friend a coffee – which has proven to be successful because it’s so simple.
“Shout is a proven platform with access to over 150 charities globally. It’s also fully optimised for desktop, mobile and tablet use, which we know is important for our customers.”
Phillips said ANZ customers will be able to access the Shout platform in coming months via the Grow by ANZ app and anz.com.
“As part of the acquisition, we are pleased to also announce the CEO of Shout, Jane Martino and Shout’s Chief Technology Officer, Charlie Carpinteri will join ANZ to help further develop this and other opportunities within ANZ,” she said.
