The auDA Foundation – the charitable trust set up by the self-regulatory body for the dot au (.au) internet domain space – is now accepting Not for Profit applications for funding grants.

The auDA Foundation Board says it is looking for NFP applications that will utilise the power of the Internet to deliver practical outcomes through innovative means that will deliver a benefit to the Australian community.

The auDA Foundation says it aims to enhance the use of the Internet for all Australians. The Foundation typically offers grants in the range of $5,000 to $25,000 to Not for Profit organisations and research institutions.

It says financial support is provided to proposals that will satisfy the objectives of the auDA Foundation Charter .

Priority is given to those proposals that will be completed within 12 months of the date of the grant, however, three-year PhD student funding will be considered.
The auDA Foundation is a charitable trust established to promote and encourage educational and research activities that will enhance the utility of the Internet for the benefit of the Australian community.

It was established in 2005 by .au Domain Administration (auDA) which is the policy authority and industry self-regulatory body for the .au domain space.
In the 2012 Funding Round 12 projects were awarded a total of $371,431 and include the funding of two three-year PhD scholarships. 2012 was the 6th funding round and the

Foundation has now funded 84 projects totalling $1,657,769.
The 2012 funding round provided grants for projects such as examining the use of Twitter by the courts, the creation of an online Community of Practice for nurse educators, an interactive interface to enable Indigenous communities to access and use three dimensional models of Australian landscapes and determining the preferred forms of service delivery for young people at risk of suicide and self harm.

The 2013 Funding Round for the auDA Foundation will receive grant applications until 5pm Friday June 7, 2013.

All funding details can be located in the Funding Information section of the auDA Foundation website. For more information including application forms go to the Applying Section
